- Transcripts read word by word, where the captions allow it. When a video's caption track carries per-word timestamps, the spoken word lights up as it's said and clicking a word takes you exactly there, in the transcript bar and the on-video captions alike. Highlight boundaries snap to words on those lines too. Videos without that timing keep working as before: click a line, land at the line. Get Info shows which kind a video has.
- Get Info (⌘I). Right-click a video, or press ⌘I: channel, length, source link, dates, size on disk, the caption languages on hand, and how finely its transcript is timed.
- Preview by scrubbing the video itself. Hovering the timeline, or a transcript word, scrubs the real video surface and snaps back to your place on release. Prefer the old floating thumbnail? Settings → Player brings it back.
- Sort alphabetically. A third sort next to Date Added and Upload Date, in the library and every playlist. Numbers sort naturally: Lesson 2 comes before Lesson 10, so a course reads in order.
- Zoom to Fill. Press z (or Playback → Zoom to Fill) and the video covers the surface, cropping the overflow instead of leaving black bars. The choice sticks, and applies in the window, the mini, and fullscreen alike.
- Archive Video works in the background. Firing it from Shortcuts or Spotlight no longer brings lore forward: the download just starts, and the confirmation appears right where you invoked it. A channel or playlist link still opens its page in the Browser to pick from.

- Fullscreen reaches the top of the screen. An invisible title-bar band kept the video from the top edge, most visibly on vertical videos, which lost real height to it. Fullscreen is edge to edge now.
- Peeking word to word shows one clean frame. Hovering across transcript words used to flash a blurry in-between frame on every hop.

- Long transcripts scroll smoothly. Reading mode renders each line as one piece of text instead of hundreds of live word views, so a hard scroll through an hours-long transcript no longer stutters.
- Scrub previews are instant, then sharp. Hover previews paint a fast frame immediately and swap in the exact frame as the cursor settles, and the warm cache survives long scrubbing sessions instead of flushing itself mid-drag.

- Playlists. Paste a playlist link and its page opens in the Browser: every video visible first, nothing imports by itself. From there, Follow keeps it in your feed like a channel, and Save as Playlist pulls the whole thing into your library as a collection of saved entries. Nothing downloads until you choose to; private and deleted entries are skipped; the playlist remembers where it came from.
- Channels, the same way. A pasted channel link lands on its page instead of silently following it, and Save as Playlist on a channel page pulls its uploads into a playlist too. One shape for both.
- Deleting a playlist can clean up after itself. If some of its videos exist nowhere else in your library, no download, no marks, no other playlist, deleting asks whether to remove those too. Anything you've touched anywhere else is never offered. A playlist whose videos all live elsewhere deletes instantly, as before.
- The Browser says when YouTube pushes back. When the source rate-limits, the loading line says so, and that it resumes by itself, instead of spinning in silence. Settings → Diagnostics shows the live fetch state.

- Watching stays smooth while something downloads. A running download used to drag playback, the mini-player, and the transcript with its constant progress updates. It doesn't anymore.
- Downloads finish when the app is hidden. Hiding lore right after starting a download could let macOS pause it mid-pull. Downloads now keep working, and keep the Mac awake, until they're done.

- The Browser is fast now. Scrolling the feed and channel pages is smooth, switching into the Browser is instant, and the keyboard cursor stays locked to the center of the screen while you walk through videos. This was a full pass: measured, fixed, measured again.
- Everything fetched from YouTube takes one lane. Listings, downloads, captions, and avatars share one coordinated budget with priorities, so bursts don't trip rate limits and channel listings arrive complete instead of missing their dates.

- The languages you read. Settings → General has a new content languages list: the languages you actually read, in order. It decides which subtitles download with every video (the original, plus yours), which caption language shows first, and the language the Browser lists in. It follows your system languages until you edit it, and a video in a language you read is always left alone: original title, its own captions first.
- Titles in the original language. The Browser lists videos in your language instead of forced English, and the library always keeps a video's original title. If you want foreign titles translated, turn on "Translate foreign titles": translation happens on your Mac with Apple's translation models, only for languages you don't read, and the stored title never changes.
- The transcript, everywhere. The transcript is a full-height bar now, and it follows you into fullscreen and the mini-player. Drag its edge to resize it, double-click the edge to reset. It opens on the line being spoken and keeps it on a steady reading line while it follows, so the text never jumps under your eyes. ⇧⌘T opens it from anywhere, even while another app has the keyboard.
- Highlights, edited where you read. Press h with the transcript open and the editor appears inside the bar itself. The moment is already selected, and honestly: the line that made you reach for h is the line captured, even when you pressed it a beat late. Click any word to move a boundary there; the selection joins across lines like any text selection, hovering shows exactly what a click would take, and right-clicking a line captures exactly that line. A saved highlight keeps the exact words you chose: reopen it, in the bar or the transcript, and the same words light up.
- Time saved. Settings counts the time watching your way gives back, ticking live while you watch. One lifetime number, measured against watching everything at normal speed.
- Go to Channel. Right-click any YouTube video, in your library or the Browser, and jump straight to its channel page.
- Channel pages keep scrolling. A channel used to stop at its first 40 uploads with no explanation. The page now loads more as you reach the end, says so while it fetches, and tells you plainly when you've seen every upload it can list, with the real channel one click away.
- Save a link without downloading. Watch Later, Favorite, or Add to Playlist on a pasted link saves it to your library as-is. Downloading stays one click away, whenever you want it.
- Captions that look after themselves. The caption picker shows one entry per language, marks the video's original, and remembers your choice by language across videos. A language the video offers but the download couldn't fetch retries quietly in the background: the menu shows "fetching…" and says so plainly when the source throttled it.
- A seamless mini-player jump. Floating a video out or bringing it back holds the exact frame through the handoff. No black blink.

- A cancelled download stays cancelled. Cancelling used to leave a partial file behind that quietly re-downloaded on the next launch. Cancelling is final now; only downloads you asked for and never cancelled resume by themselves.
- Space always means play. Pressing space could toggle the sidebar instead of playback once keyboard focus landed on a toolbar button, and it stayed wrong until relaunch. Space plays.
- Archive Video says what happened. The shortcut used to flash a popup and vanish. It now reports the outcome every time: archiving, with the video's title; already in your library; already downloading; or the reason it failed.
- Remove from Library works the first time, even while the video is still downloading, and downloading a Watch Later video no longer drops it out of the queue.
- The mini-player comes back reliably. Switching back to lore, by click, Dock, or ⌘-tab, collects the floating video into the main window every time, and brings the window forward with it.
- Closing the mini-player stays quiet. Its ✕ dismisses the video without pulling lore in front of what you were doing.
- One card per video. A downloading video no longer shows up twice when its link is still on the clipboard.
- Nothing shifts while you watch. The player bar no longer lurches when a video crosses the one-hour mark or when you mute; the downloads list keeps its titles readable.
- Captions Off keeps your language. Turning captions off no longer flips the transcript back to English. The language you chose stays chosen, on the video and in the bar.
- Highlights speak your language. Capturing a highlight stores the caption line you were actually reading, not the English transcript underneath it.

- History keeps everything you play. Every video you actually play shows up in history, newest first, at ⌘0. It is your watch log, kept apart from your library, so the video you watched a few minutes ago is always one list away even if you never saved it. Playing a video records it here; marking something watched by hand does not.
- Watch Later is a real queue, now first in the sidebar at ⌘1. Add a video with ⌘G, the clock button on it, or the right-click menu. It hides what you have already watched, so the list stays what is left to play, and you can drag videos into the exact order you mean to watch them, or sort by date instead.
- lore can free space on its own. Turn it on in Settings, then Storage, and once a video has been watched for a window you choose, anywhere from immediately to a month, its download moves to the Trash while the video stays in your library, every mark intact and one click from coming back. It never touches videos you imported yourself, anything you have highlighted, what you are partway through, or your favorites. It stays off until you ask for it.
- Watch Later can tidy itself too. A matching setting clears a video from the queue once you have watched it, so the queue is always just what is left to play.
- Play a whole list in order. A play button on any list plays it start to finish, downloading videos as it reaches them.
- Clear every download at once. From the Library menu, or from Settings, then Storage, reclaim all your downloaded files in one move. Your library, favorites, playlists, and watch history all stay, and you see how many videos and how much space you will get back before you confirm.
- Download several videos together. Select a handful you have saved but not downloaded, and one action fetches them all.
- A transcript beside the player. Press the t key and the full transcript opens next to the video. The line being spoken lights up and scrolls along on its own, and clicking any line jumps the video to it.
- Show or hide the sidebar from anywhere. The s key folds it away or brings it back wherever you are, with a system-wide shortcut that works even when lore is in the background.

- The sidebar collections are ordered by how often you reach for them: history, Watch Later, library, favorites, highlights, then your playlists, jumped with ⌘0 through ⌘9.
- Every shortcut follows one rule now: a key on its own acts on the video you are watching, and ⌘ with a letter acts on the list. A few keys moved to fit. Watch Later is ⌘G, and the hide-watched and downloaded-only filters are now ⌘E and ⌘Y, while favorite stays ⌘D and mark watched ⌘U. - Every keyboard shortcut is yours to change. Open Settings, then Shortcuts, to remap any command, give a command more than one key, or turn one off. Each command has two columns: a key for use inside the app, and a separate one that works from anywhere even when the app isn't focused. Fill either, both, or neither.
- A home-row layout out of the box: j and l skip back and forward, u and o change speed, i and k change volume, all beside the arrows and brackets you already knew. Volume has keyboard controls for the first time, and the 1 through 9 jumps let you choose which modifier triggers them.
- A "downloaded only" filter for the library. The library now keeps a row for anything you favorite or mark watched, even when it was never downloaded, so a new toggle (and the d key) narrows the view to just the videos you have on disk. It is on by default; turn it off to see everything.

- Drive the whole app from the keyboard. Reach search from anywhere with ⇧⌘F, even from another app or while the miniplayer floats over your work. Type, drop into the results, and move through your whole library with the arrow keys. Hold ⌘ and a number to jump straight to a collection. Mark a moment, export a clip, play, pause, and seek without reaching for the mouse. Mouse clicks still play instantly; keyboard arrows move a cursor and Return commits, so browsing by key never interrupts what is on screen. Every key shows in the ? card and the Settings reference, and the playback shortcuts remap.
- Play and pause from anywhere. ⌥⌘Space and ⇧⌘Space reach playback system-wide, so a talk in the miniplayer pauses without leaving the window you are working in.
- Export a highlight with a keystroke. E drops the current highlight into your export folder (chosen in Settings), e opens a save dialog to pick a spot each time, and a share button on the player exports the moment you are watching.
- Reach the developer from Settings. Telegram and email links sit in About, beside Feedback.
